Congratulations for accomplishing such an enterprise, and a wonderful blog. Any plans for the book to be published in Portugal? Best regards.
Thanks for the comment. No plans to publsh the book in Portugal at present but it’s certainly something I want to look into.
Dear Richard,
I’ve been reading your blog and the pages of your book that are available online (googlebooks).
I just wanted to congratulate you on your writing and the wonderful theme that you make so enjoyable to read.
I’m writing my MA dissertation on ‘Novo Fado’ and your book, I’m sure, will provide quite a lot of insight into this theme and Fado in general.
I hope it gets published in Portugal as it is a tad expensive to acquire for me at the moment. Any news as to when we’ll be able to buy it here in Portugal?
Thanks and, again, congratulations!
Ricardo
Hello Ricardo,
Thanks for your message. I hope it may be possible to arrange for a cheaper edition of the book in the future. There are no immediate plans for this, though I intend to find out about the process of getting the work translated into Portuguese, which could lead to a cheaper edition (though I know that academic books can be very expensive in Portugal too). Anyway, I will be posting more material related to the book here as and when time permits. Great to hear that your dissertation is on Novo Fado. I hope it finds its way into publication when it’s done. Best of luck with that. Richard
